The Electric Prunes Rediscovered - Again.

Way back in the ye olde 2000s the Birdman label reissued/released a couple killer CDs from the1960s psychedelic garage band the Electric Prunes. Wolvserpent Press Release From 20 Buck Spin.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Wolvserpent "Blood Seed" LP

Boise, Idaho duo Wolvserpent (formerly known as Pussygutt) will release their 4th album, Blood Seed, officially on Tuesday, October 5th. In advance of that 20 Buck Spin is posting a full album stream now.

Blood Seed is the duo’s finest work, consisting of the two extended tracks “Wolv” and “Serpent”. Blood Seed will appeal to fans of early Melvins, Gnaw Their Tongues, Amber Asylum, Jucifer and all things, dark, bleak and heavy.

The band will be on the road by the time the LP is released. A link for tour dates is provided below.

Album Description:
Wolvserpent is the duo formerly known lightheartedly as Pussygutt, from Boise, Idaho. The duo is comprised of long-time members Blake Green and Brittany McConnell. Blood Seed is their 4th LP, though first using their new moniker. Utilizing elements of the first three LPs, the new Wolvserpent LP takes the disparate strains of experimentation the band is known and respected for, and melds them seamlessly into their most cohesive and cinematic vision thus far.

Blood Seed has been in the works for more than a year, being constantly honed and refined both live and in the studio. The result is two side long tracks, “Wolv” and “Serpent” that revel in a shimmering, dark gothic vision of rural Northwestern solitude and bleakness. The A-side sways to and fro in a perpetual state of trance while violin flourishes in the background hint at the creeping menace of night’s onward march toward total darkness. Soon the crushing tone of Green’s guitar veers forward in the dark, blasting through the forest canopy, and the whole thing becomes ensconced in the weight of massive doomed devastation and McConnell’s militaristic percussive punishment. The B-side summons the howling wolves before stretching out into THEE doom riffage of the year like a warped Kyuss cassette submerged in a watery grave. These are the ghosts of the uncivil dead.

One of the most creative, talented and unheralded acts on the 20 Buck Spin roster, Wolvserpent intend to emerge from their self-imposed isolation and spread the mortuary drape over the entire US throughout October embarking on their first major tour. Blood Seed will, in its physical manifestation, be an LP only release. Don’t sleep on it.

Tour dates HERE.

Liquorball Dudes Robbed--List Of Items.

Some sad news to report. Grady Runyan (ex-Revolverite, member of Liquorball, Monoshock, Bad Trips & International Hello, and an all around stellar dude) had the misfortune of being robbed at gunpoint while visiting Oakland a few days back. He was not harmed but in the process lost a sentimental instrument and some valuable equipment.

Email from Grady that has been circulating around:

From: Grady Runyan
Date:
July 13, 2010 4:30:25 PM PDT

Hey guys,
Last thursday Marlon & I (Liquorball) were robbed at shotgun-point in Oakland-- 32nd@ Adeline-- after working on some new recordings-- they took my guitar and every piece of gear I had with me, which was considerable-- bout $2000 probably. What hurts the most is the guitar-- a RED personalized jazzmaster/strat hybrid that I've been playing since '89-- it has been THEE guitar in every band I've been in since-- thought I was gonna be buried with it. It REALLY blows.

If you guys can keep your eyes peeled for this stuff I'd REALLY appreciate it. We've filed a police report and checked a bunch of pawn shops/flea markets before I left- didn't turn up anything.
Mighta been too early-- but it's gotta surface sometime.

The guitar is unmistakable in appearance-- red sparkle/wig hair exterior by Fred Rinne. See photo below. I will gladly pay for it's return-- no questions asked. Same for the other stuff too.
Unfortunately I do not have serial numbers-- which means it will not show up "stolen" at a pawn shop or music shop.

And we were both unharmed.

We filed a police report the night of the robbery. At this point an investigator still has yet to be assigned to the case.

Thanks VERY VERY much for anything you can do.

Sincerely,

Grady Runyan
